Question 99-04 fuel tanks & pumps..

Ive got a question.. ive been looking at both single pumps and dual pumps kits... but what i dont understand is that supposively the tanks on the sn95's (least for the 99-04's) are the same tank across all the models.. and the only thing that really changes is the fuel pump itself.. so why is it the dual pump kit by ford racing for the 03/04 cobras wont fit the other models if we all got the same supposive tank? even when i look in my BIG GREEN BOOK it doesnt say anything that would set the tanks or pumps apart from each other...

(fuel pump kit in question.. )

The 99 - 04 SN95/Fox-4 Mustangs all have the same capacity, but the GT's are different than the terminator Cobra's.

The GT's tank uses a bucket to hold the single fuel pump unit. The 03/04 Cobra uses twin pump that is too large for the GT tank bucket, so it is suspended from the top of the tank and uses a baffle. The baffle is what keeps the Cobra fuel pumps from starving below a 1/4 of a tank on the Cobra tanks.

Tim's right, don't use 03 Cobra dual in GT tank your car will chock for gas at 1/4 tank (if you do, never let your gas go below 1/4). It happened to me now I have 03 Cobra tank and the problem went away.

that was one thing i had read on them for the gt's only they had said to never let it go below 1/2 instead of 1/4.. i personally never let mine go below 1/4 anyways...

whered you find your cobra tank at? i tried just a key word search earlier for "cobra fuel tank" and got just about everything BUT the tanks...

btw was it hard to put the cobra one in or just an easy in out swap?

It wasn't that hard to swap the tank. I bought everything from www.Fastpartspecialty.com

It's a discount parts directly from Ford. Just type in the make, model, year, and etcs. It should show you the list. The price is fair that's why I ordered them.

well unless you plan on making over 1,000 hp an aeromotive in sump pump will be plenty

You just have to keep an eye out for a 03/04 cobra tank. I posted a WTB ad on SVTperformance.com and got a reply from a guy 15 mins from my house. Went to his house the next day and picked up a 03 cobra tank with FORD GT pumps.
